This is a professional development course offered exclusively to the 2023 BBIP Digital Publishing Cohort. The goal of the project this semi self-paced author driven course is to provide expert training and advice on best practices for the development of digital publications.

The progress toward the production of a publication varies according to the educational training each participant brings. Upon completion participants will have a prospectus that includes a plan of action, the design of a digital publication that meets peer-review scrutiny, a Certificate of Completion and an offer from the AFRO PWW African American Studies Series of the Illinois Open Publishing Network. 2) Modified version of the 8-week program for participants with either some experience in digital publishing or a partially developed projects. The end result will be training for the development of a publication in a specific online digital publishing platform. 3) Assistance for the design and creation of a publication in one of the project's supported publishing platforms. This will result in a digital book, journal or long-form publication that is peer-reviewed, copyedited, assigned ISBN and DOI identifiers and publicized among the AFRO PWW and IOPN networks.
