Spring 2021

This course is designed to enable learners to achieve the Novice-High level of speaking, listening, reading, writing, and grammar skills in Korean (i.e., express yourself at a sentence level within the context in which the language was learned, mainly with practiced material). The class will focus on the basic grammar, vocabulary and expressions commonly used in Korean. After completion of KOR 202, you should be able to make short simple sentences, and respond to simple and direct questions/requests for information. You should also be able to successfully manage a number of uncomplicated communicative tasks in straightforward social situations and ask simple questions in familiar contexts. Lastly, you should also be able to write on common elements of daily life, able to recombine learned vocabulary and structure to create simple sentences on familiar topics.
